Eleven Months!

Mr Man,

You are turning into such a little boy. You have gotten so big and with that comes your own little personality. You have accomplished a lot in the past month and we can't believe that we are already planning your first birthday party!

Clothing Size: You are wearing almost all 12-18 month clothes and even some 18-24 months! I am curious to see how much you weigh/how long you are at your 12 month appointment because I don't feel as though you have put on any weight over the past few months. You do seem to be growing in length and I think you are going to follow in your daddy's footsteps and be the tallest kid in class!

Favorite Toys: The world is your playground. You love playing with anything and everything. You love getting into drawers and pulling out toiletries, pots and pans, paper plates and anything else you discover. We are having to watch you more closely and make sure that you are not getting into anything that is unsafe. You have also discovered the toilet...and the water in the bowl...yuck!

Favorite Activities: There is very little that you do not enjoy doing! You love walking behind your truck, walking behind the ottoman, eating, taking baths, going for walks in your stroller, and playing with mommy and daddy.

Seeing that mommy is writing this letter a bit late and it is actually October 18, 2009, today, today is the day that you are officially walking! You have been taking 3-4 steps for quite some time now, and took about 10 steps a few days ago. Today, Sunday, you have really started walking all over the place. You are perfecting your balance and have started to discover that you can get places quicker if you walk instead of crawl.

With being mobile comes injuries. You were playing in your crib one morning while mommy was getting ready for work. Mommy heard you screaming and ran in the room to see what was wrong. Your little face was covered in blood. You had pulled yourself up to your crib and and bumped your chin on the side of the crib. This made you bite your tongue and made your mouth bleed. Mommy felt so bad, but daddy told her that's part of having a boy and that this was just the first of many injuries for you.

You also love playing with mommy and daddy. You are really starting to recognize mommy and daddy more and you love teasing them. You like to hit daddy's belly and laugh and you love to play the asleep/wake up game with mommy.

You are also starting to cuddle more. You love to rest your head on mommy or daddy's shoulder when you first wake up. You also like to rest and rock in the rocking chair with mommy or daddy.

You are starting to really understand books more as well. You now have the attention span to let mommy or daddy read an entire book to you and you react to the pictures in the book. Your favorite book is the "touch and feel" ABCs. You love all the different textures you can feel.

Other Milestones: You have both bottom teeth now and one of your top front teeth is coming in as well.

You also switched from formula to milk the day before you turned 11 months. After a little bit of a transition period, you seem to be doing very well with the milk. It's too cold if we give it to you right from the fridge, so we either have to let it sit out for a minute or warm it up to room temperature for you.

Favorite Food: You still seem to like to eat almost everything. You seem to like fruit and bread the best. You especially like grapes. You are starting to get a little bit pickier about what you eat. After eating 13 oz of formula one morning and 20 the next, we thought it was about time to start giving you breakfast food. You have only liked about half of the food we have tried. You do not like eggs, breakfast sausage or oatmeal. You love the cinnamon raisin bread, grapes, dried cereal, and yogurt.

Number of Naps: You are still on a pretty consistent nap schedule, but I am thinking that you will be ready to give up the morning nap sometime soon as you are starting to sleep less at each nap. You are waking a bit later in the morning, around 7:00-7:30 which is SO nice for mommy. You then typically have your morning nap around 10:00. You typically sleep for 1 hour and then wake up around 11:00. You go down for an afternoon nap around 1:30 and wake up around 3:00.

Bedtime Routine: Your bedtime routine is still really the same. Typically mommy or daddy gives you a bath and then gives you a bottle. Sometimes we also read you a story. Mommy (and sometimes daddy) sings you a song and then either mommy or daddy puts you in your crib, tucked in your favorite blanket and with the sunshine on. You go to bed around 8:30 and sleep until about 7:00 in the morning.

We love you, little one! You are such a fun, excitable, sweet, loving, laid-back, adorable little boy. We are so thankful that we are your parents and can’t wait to see what the next few months bring!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Pumpkin Hats

My mom decided to knit some pumpkin hats for LP and his cousin, Johanna. They turned out so cute and we tried to get some pics of the kids with them on. The pics didn't turn out the best, but I thought I would at least share our attempts:)
